Star Test

Attention PIONEER ! Send us an E-Mail when you are ready to pass your Star test. We’ll send you a reply with further instructions.

QUESTIONS -- STAR PIONEER TEST!

This Test may be passed after two weeks' lapse of time from passing the Third Test.

  1. Demonstrate the latest method of artificial respiration, as approved by the American Red Cross.
  2. Tell what you would do if you witnessed any of the following events:
    1. A car strikes a person and does not stop.
    2. A car strikes an animal and does not stop.
    3. A car strikes two parked cars and keeps going and does not stop.
    4. A car runs into a pole, driver gets out of car and you see he is injured.
  3. Send the complete Semaphore Code; be able to receive a message prepared by Examiner of at least 10 words.
  4. What would you do in cases of the following: (You may select any one of the three cases.)
    1. You hear a motor running in a garage and notice that the door is shut. Upon looking into the garage, you see a person on the floor--apparently overcome by fumes. What do you do?
    2. Upon entering a house, you smell the odor of gas from a gas stove. You learn it is coming from the kitchen. As the door is closed, you notice upon opening it a person lying on the floor--apparently overcome by gas fumes.
    3. While passing a lake, you hear someone shouting. You notice they have fallen through the ice into the water.
  5. How many Ability Tests must be passed by a member to become an Eagle Pioneer?
  6. What year was the Pioneer Boys of America founded?
  7. Why is it important to give an injured person first aid for shock?
  8. Identify an animal foot track. You may have found this track locally. Produce a plaster cast of this track and its identity.
  9. Secure and submit to Examiner at least 5 leaves -- each being different, and identify said leaves. (These leaves need not be green.)
  10. Using a knot pole, tie six knots, their names and their use.

Return your completed Star test page using the E Test instruction page we will E-Mail to you. We’ll return your score and assistance and the date code to be added to your PERSONAL RECORDS page.

When you pass your Star Test, Record your progress on your PERSONAL RECORDS page. Headquarters will send you an official emblem to wear on a T-Shirt or sweater and/or a certificate. ..... You will also be awarded 15 Points towards your next 100 Point Honor Award. These Points will be added to your progress in achieving LIFE PIONEER, EAGLE PIONEER AND GOLD PALM AWARD.
