QUESTIONS -- SECOND TEST!

1. Explain what the five principle parts of the Pioneer Emblem mean?
2. Describe the proper use of knife and hatchet in chopping fire wood or whittling. Tell the difference between a hatchet and an axe, and the proper way they should be carried through woods or on a hike? How to fell a tree?
3. Box the compass, first the 4 points, then the 8 points and then the 16 points?
4. With semaphore flags, show ability to send the first 16 letters of the alphabet?
5. Who was the first astronaut to be sent into space as a part of our Government program? From where was the blast-off executed? What was the name of his capsule or ship?
6. Explain the following simple first-aid remedies for the following conditions?
   1. While playing, John was struck by the ball, causing his nose to bleed?
   2. While on a hike, you try to open a can of beans for cooking and cut or lacerate your thumb on the sharp, tin cover?
   3. Mother trips as she carries the shopping bags upstairs and complains of her right ankle causing her pain-she has sprained her ankle and it is swelling rapidly?

When you have passed your Second Test, you are now eligible to wear the emblem indicating you have passed your Second Test. You will remind your Leader to credit you with 15 points for the passing of" the First and Second Tests. Purchase this emblem through your Leader and have it secured to your hat as it shows in Chart #1.
